Abstract Description

The presentation on "Modern Technologies and Facilities for Simulation and Skills Training" explores the latest advancements in aviation training, focusing on Full Flight Simulators (FFS), Fixed-based Flight Training Devices (FTD), Computer-Based Training (CBT), and the use of data-driven technology for Evidence-Based Training (EBT) and Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA).

FFS are at the forefront of modern aviation training, offering realistic cockpit environments that enable pilots to practice a wide range of scenarios, including emergencies and adverse weather conditions, in a safe and controlled setting. FFS provide a cost-effective alternative to actual flight training, allowing pilots to hone their skills.

FTDs complement FFS by offering high-fidelity, non-motion flight simulation. While lacking the full motion capability of FFS, FTDs provide a highly realistic cockpit environment and allow for training in a wide range of scenarios. They are particularly useful for procedural training and cockpit familiarization.

CBT programs provide flexible and accessible learning opportunities, enabling pilots to study at their own pace and convenience. These programs can be tailored to individual learning styles and needs, providing a personalized training experience.

Data-driven technology is increasingly being used in aviation training to enhance EBT and CBTA methodologies. By analysing pilot performance data, trainers can identify areas for improvement and customize training modules accordingly. This data-driven approach improves training effectiveness and enhances pilot competency and confidence.

Overall, the presentation highlights the critical role of FFS, FTD, CBT, and data-driven technology in modern aviation training. By embracing these advancements, airlines can ensure that their pilots are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to safely navigate the skies.
