Introduction :
In the era of internet, people of all ages, from children to the elderly who possess at least one smartphone.



In January 2023, NDH surgical department have created a video about the colonoscopy procedure, such as dietary restriction and uploaded to the YouTube. Then, we have integrated the video into the phone message and sent it to the patient so they could receive the colonoscopy information at anytime and anywhere.

Also, it could serve as a timely reminder to patient about the upcoming appointment.
Objectives :
1. To enhance the quality of colonoscopy with patient were more well prepared.

2. Avoid reschedule colonoscopy due to inadequate bowel preparation.

3. Providing patients with easily accessible colonoscopy information and education at all times and all places.

2. Lower the appointment default rate and optimize resources utilization.
Methodology :
The number of inadequate bowel preparation colonoscopy performed between February to October 2022 and February to October 2023 were collected and compared, by using Clinical Data Analysis and Reporting System (CDARS) for each period.



Also, the default rate of colonoscopy appointment between February to October 2022 and February to October 2023 were collected and compared, by using Out-Patient Attendance System (OPAS) for each period.
Result & Outcome :
The default rate was significantly decreased from 21% (686) in 2022 to 17%(532) in 2023.

Compare 2022 & 2023, the number of colonoscopy with inadequate bowel preparation was significantly decreased from 12%(313/2659) to 10% (338/3218).

According to the data, it shown that sending colonoscopy education video via phone messages could significantly reduce the default rate and effectively improve the colonoscopy preparation.
