Introduction :
In view of day-to-day operation at wards, lots of signage cards with patient care information have been widely used at bedside. The bedside space is not merely very limited and the information is also required manual steps for updating which is time-consuming. To tackle the situation with IT solution, HOIT&HI takes the lead in response the pain point and has started to develop the Smart Panel App under Smart Hospital initiatives. Apart from achieving a clear illustration of patient care information on designated electronic display, the use of Smart Panel is further extended as a multi-functional platform at bedside to maximize the accessibility of clinical data via clinical App.
Objectives :
This project aims at developing Smart Panel App with the application of mobile technology and system integration as well as build in a multi-functional electronic platform at bedside to meet the direction of HA on smart ward approach.
Methodology :
Smart Panel App has launched at inpatient wards by installation of electronic display device at patient bedside and has extended the use of Smart Panel for accessing clinical data at a glance.
Result & Outcome :
Over 400 inpatient wards in 32 HA hospitals have already rolled out Smart Panel as at Dec 2023. With the successful product deployment, more than 100 inpatient wards are now under planning for further implementation. Smart Panel supports a clear and structured care signage at bedside; and also acts as a multi-functional electronic platform to maximize the accessibility of clinical data, e.g. patient vital signs, Laboratory results, Radiology results, Patient Assessment Form (Nursing), etc... Eventually, it not only achieves a better staff experience on application of new technology innovation; and also beefs up the clinical efficiency which also paved the way for the success of win-win strategy.
