Introduction :
During August to October 2023, Dietetic Department received 116 referrals from Geriatrics Day hospital (GDH), of which 105 (90.1%) patients were referred to receive nutritional support. It was brought to attention that most of these patients did not receive timely nutrition advice to complement their exercise training regime.
Objectives :
1. To examine the diagnosis, intervention and waiting time to receive nutrition advice for referred GDH patients. 2. To explore solutions to expedite nutrition advice provided to these patients.
Methodology :
The data for referred GDH patients during August, September and October 2023 were retrieved retrospectively from diet assessment forms. The data of waiting time, diagnosis and intervention were analyzed.
Result & Outcome :
To complement exercise training with nutrition support by providing timely nutrition advice to patients. see attachment
