Introduction :
Project management is essential and crucial daily work for Nurse Managers. We developed the “Project Logic Model” for nursing-related project management in our rehabilitation hospital to fit the local practice. The elements included product development, training, outcomes evaluation, and consideration of contingency and sustainability. It was demonstrated to be practical and worthy of being promulgated for extended applications.
Objectives :
- To develop a “Project Logic Model” for project management
- To trial the model and review its outcomes
Methodology :
The Project Logic Model was composed of “1P, 1E, and 7C”, which are Product Development, Staff Engagement, Completeness of Training, Staff Competency, Compliance, Customer Feedback, Continuous Improvement, Champion to be identified to appreciate good acts, and Contingency planning for unforeseeable circumstance. Project Managers in our Nursing Services Division were required to formulate the planning according to these nine domains and use the template to monitor and review the progress.
Result & Outcome :
The Propjet Logic Model was utilized in recent half years in various projects. It guides project managers in planning and implementing the responsible projects. For some small-scale projects, not all domains of the model were utilized. More applications to other projects should be explored, to improve the model continually.
