Introduction :
From the past resuscitation records and Designated Resuscitation Team reports, the quality of resuscitation in TWEH was analyzed and rooms of improvement were identified. Firstly, the CPR drill checklist was updated. Secondly, training materials, including videos and quick guides, are formulated to demonstrate an effective resuscitation with the application of a defibrillator according to AHA guideline 2023. Besides, cue cards, showing the Operational procedure of Automatic External Defibrillation (AED) mode for various models of defibrillators are attached to all defibrillators in TWEH. It gave a quick reference to all staff. Finally, quick reference videos were uploaded on the intranet, so that our staff can access the training material anytime and anywhere.
Objectives :
-To raise the staff awareness and improve their competence in performing an effective resuscitation
-To continuously review the quality of resuscitation and analyze the record to give constructive feedbacks for improvement
-To provide standard and quick reference for the procedure of AED mode of defibrillator

Result & Outcome :
In the latest CPR drill in May 2023, staff were more familiar with the steps and more competent with the use of AED mode of defibrillator. The first defibrillation was given within 2 minutes after the discovery of a patient with cardiac arrest. The correct procedures and techniques of operation of AED mode of defibrillator were demonstrated quickly in the CPR drill.
Conclusion:
Resuscitation is our first priority in rescuing lives of patients. Training and quick reference guides can help healthcare professionals to familiarize with the operation of AED mode of defibrillator.
Public health implications:
In the future, simulation training with different scenarios will be provided to staff to enhance their knowledge and competence.
