Introduction :
Continues professional healthcare education could improve staff’s competence and confidence in managing various clinical situations, hence enhancing the quality of care, patients’ safety as well as job satisfaction. Nursing’ knowledge would directly impact on patient care and outcome in acute ward settings.
The cranial nerve program firstly pilot in QEH NS E8 ward. The timeframe of the program is start from January 2023 to December 2023. The target group is all nursing staffs and mainly focuses on junior staff. We have introduced one pair of nerve including anatomy, assessment of the nerve and nursing care in each month. The method of the training program is based on the concept of adult learning. To transition from passive to active learning and create an environment that fosters and supports self-directed learning skills.
Objectives :
1) To enhance learning atmosphere in emergency clinical setting
2) To improve junior staffs’ neurological knowledge in an effortless and fun way.
3) Creating same vision and diversion for learning in emergency clinical area
Methodology :
We make use of the smart technology in the training program to provide a flexible learning pathway to the staff. Ward-drive was used as our e-platform to convey all education materials, including PowerPoint, pre-reading materials and journals. A conciseness PowerPoint will display in the smart TV in the ward.

Furthermore, we make use of the e-handover system via the HA app to share the journal with captions and subtitles for the staff to help them drive deeper into the topics. It makes the content easier to understand and accessible for the staffs at everywhere and at any time.

Social media platforms have taken an important roles in education. It is a part of modern people lifestyle, we have make use of social media in the program. Instagram is one of the most significant educational networks that advantages learner. We had posted some learning materials in the limited time new story in Instagram. It provided combination of sound and text that attracted staffs’ interest. Also, we added a caption box that allows staffs discuss numerous concerns and subjects in the comment area.
Result & Outcome :
The program will end on 31 December 2023, a mid term MCQ test provided and the average score is 6.1. A post test performed and the average score improved from 6.1 to 8.3. Staff evaluation had performed on a 5-point Likert scale at the end of the program. All of the staff satisficed the program and they felt more confidence in performing nursing care for the patients after the training. A post knowledge and assessment test is processing.
