Introduction :
Title: Three-Year Retrospective Evaluation of the HEART Score Protocol for Managing Chest Pain in the Emergency Department
Abstract:
Background: The HEART Score protocol is one of the tool for risk stratification in emergency department (ED) patients with chest pain, guiding management and admission decisions. This study, spanning from 2021 to 2023, investigates the protocol's impact on patient care outcomes, with a particular focus on safety as measured by short-term re-attendance rates.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 198 patients presenting with chest pain from 2021 to 2023 to TKOH AED, stratified via the HEART score and belonged to the moderate (4-6), and low-risk (0-3) categories, excluding those with high-risk indicators. Patients with high (7-10) HEART score were excluded.
